Do you believe you can do what you love and earn a good living? Good question, right? On the second hand, would you ever ask a caterpillar: "Do you believe you can fly? Do you believe in yourself?" Caterpillars don't plan on becoming butterflies, they just do. How? In my observation, they do what brings them Joy! For caterpillars, it's eating a lot of food. Please understand me correctly, I'm not suggesting you eat a lot! You're not a caterpillar! |
What brings you joy? What brings you joy today?
For me, this summer, it was raising/farming caterpillars and seeing them change into butterflies.
Yes, I know, we were told to work hard and not have too much fun. You can work hard on what you love, then you'll have fun!
Raising butterflies is hard. Yet, it's very joyful. Building this website is work, but it definitely brings Joy!
Do you want to build websites? Create video games? Grow flowers? Help other people?
That's the key, helping other people!
Can you figure out, what do you like to do that helps other people?
You see, farming butterflies helps butterflies, but they don't pay me. I wish they did!
Yet, their population is much lower than it was 10 years ago. That means that what I did this summer was important. I like feeling important! Who doesn't?
Plus raising butterflies was really good for my brain. Work on my little butterfly farm helped me release stress. It also helped me find my super power, mindfulness.
Mindfulness is a super-power. Mindfulness is essential in any job.
I work in IT. It's one of those stressful jobs. Because of the stress, I felt I didn't like it anymore. Farming butterflies led me to building this website. Building a website is work. It is an IT work, and I love it!
To be honest, IT jobs pay good money. I miss that! I also miss programming. I miss solving problems! I realized that I love solving problems, and I can do that not just for caterpillars.
I found what I love that helps other people. Solving problems in IT world!
Now the question is, What do you love that can help other people?
P.S. Sometimes all you want to do is your taxes... yes, you do!!! It'll help other person - You!
